The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for Women, Infants, and Children – better known as WIC, serves to safeguard the health of low income women, infants, & children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating, and referrals to health care.<\/p>\n

The Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), a Federal agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is the agency responsible for administering the WIC Program at the national and regional levels.<\/p>\n

3. Be certified by a health professional at the WIC clinic as having a special need for supplemental foods.<\/p>\n
